How to Write Kickass Blog Post Titles

Titles are the most important part of a blog post. A post’s title is the first thing that a person notices when reading a blog post. It is also the first thing that a person who comes across your blog post in a social bookmarking site or Twitter or in the Search Engine Results sees.

…Netchunks then only half of it will be displayed. Some what like How to make a lot Extra Money From Freelancing Site By . . By! By What? People will not understand your title and thus will not read the rest of the article .
People tend to get attracted to a shorter title rather than a lengthy boring title (Actually they may think, If the title is so long and boring, How lengthy and boring the article maybe!!)
Keep it short so that it can be easily shared in Social media sites like Twitter and Identi.ca. Since this sites have only a 140 characters limit, you should actually keep it as short as possible so that it can be retweeed or re-shared

3) Use Powerful and Bold Words
Not every word can evoke the same feeling from a reader. Sometimes some words can evoke more powerful or intense emotions in your readers. Inclusion of these kind of words in the blog title can urge your reader to read the full post
These words are also called trigger words because these words trigger an emotion in a readers mind. Some…

We Interrupt the World Cup & Obsess Over Other Awesome Games

Announcements from Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft have managed to gain a decent amount of traction in the social-media sphere, ever so slightly loosening the World Cup’s death grip on Twitter’s Trending Topics

…worldcup,” but with all manner of player names, team names and triumphant or vanquished countries. But leave it to geeks and nerds to point out that kicking a ball around a field isn’t the only game in town. Thanks to E3, the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo currently under way at the Los Angeles Convention Center, announcements from Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft have managed to gain a decent amount of traction in the social-media sphere, ever so slightly loosening the World Cup’s death grip on Twitter’s Trending Topics. Which brings us to the latest weekly Trendrr chart, a collaboration between Advertising Age and social-media tracking service Trendrr Pro. A few notes:

Microsoft chose to jump the gun on E3 a bit by making a Sunday-evening announcement about its new motion controller for the Xbox 360. So far, though, as the Guardian’s Games Blog notes, “The tech press and blogosphere are not too excited so far by the Kinect.” Microsoft also officially introduced a sleeker Xbox 360, nicknamed the “Slim”…

Greyson Chance: The "Net" Superstar & How He Really Happened

Talented kid gets a decent, but not breathtaking, number of views for his Lady Gaga cover, with a big assist from impressed bloggers. Then Diane Sawyer basically told her millions of viewers to go on YouTube and watch the video. And then Greyson appeared on “Ellen,” charmed and wowed everyone, & of course he spiked even more on YouTube and Twitter.

…will be playing on Ellen. Reddit, you just made this guy viral.”

6. On Wedneday, May 12, a snippet of Greyson’s star-turn makes “ABC World News” in a surprisingly lengthy (1:44) — for the evening news — report that marvels over the fact that he was not only the one boy in the school who had the guts to get up and do a solo at the Sixth Grade Festival, but that he sang “of all things, Lady Gaga’s ‘Paparazzi’.” “A story that struck us part ‘Billy Elliot,’ part ‘Glee,” Diane Sawyer says in introducing the segment.

7. Ellen’s producers fly the kid and his mom out to Los Angeles, and on Thursday, May 13, she devotes an eight-minute segment to the remarkably charming and self-possessed Greyson. Ellen stuns the kid by having Lady Gaga call into the show while he’s sitting there, and Gaga tells him, “Don’t be nervous today, you’ve already won over everyone’s hearts…. Just have fun and give a performance of a lifetime.” And you know what? He does!

7a. I’ll just interrupt myself here and say that while…

Who Got the Biggest Twitter Lift From the Oscars?

Though the media spends the months and weeks leading up to the Oscars obsessing about the potential nominees and winners, your average Twitterer doesn’t care until the damn show is on the air.

…Though the media spends the months and weeks leading up to the Oscars obsessing about the potential nominees and winners, your average Twitterer doesn’t care until the damn show is on the air. Then, just as quickly, the Twittersphere stops caring again. The trend lines on tweets that name-check the best actor, best actress and best film nominees basically go from flat line to huge spike (mainly, of course, for the ultimate winner) to flat line again. One exception: Sandra Bullock (best actress), whose buzz-worthy acceptance speech has kept people talking (somewhat).

Bullock handily beat Jeff Bridges (best actor) in Twitter buzz by a country mile: 32,742 tweets name-checked her in her peak hour last night vs. just 20,878 for Bridges….

My Life as H.J. Heinz: Confessions of a Twitter Squatter

Michael Werch set out to find out how long a brand would take to realize it was being impersonated, and what course of action would it take.

…rgrich - Can a Super Bowl ad be a waste of time? I assert it most certainly can for the wrong business. In the exact same way I assert twitter can be wrong for some businesses, namely ketchup. It’s certainly a waste of time for Heinz, I asserted nothing more.

Everyone still seems to be overlooking the simple fact that hijacking a company name on twitter is wrong and the company responded quickly and efficiently. You condemn them for not using twitter specifically, but you don’t even touch on the rest of their marketing efforts. Do you really believe as you imply in your response they didn’t consider twitter? The fact they were monitoring the conversation leads me to believe otherwise.

Finally what is the point? Are they going to SELL more ketchup by posting on twitter to loyal followers who we must assume already like them enough to follow them on twitter? Is this not preaching to the choir? Does anyone who reads Ad Age actually think about sales? What would you tweet to someone who already is a fanatic…

Interview With Twitter Co-Founder Biz Stone

The Twitter co-founder talks about Obama’s social media savvy, what makes someone popular on Twitter, and how people are like birds.

…so it’s not just governments, it’s organizations like NASA, and companies like JetBlue, and Whole Foods and Starbucks. They’re realizing the value in this form of open and short communication, and so I think we’re naturally going to see them moving to it. As long as it provides value to them and to the people who are consuming this information and using it, I think we’re going to see them moving toward it, and that includes governments.
MJ: Is this the future of PR?
BS: Well, I think the future of PR is listening and becoming part of the conversation. In as much as Twitter allows communication specialists to really participate and listen to what their customers or consumers, or what have you, are saying and feeling about issues and products, then yes. I think as PR gets into this realm where the specialists become more a part of this conversation, then it is the future.
MJ: It seems like some techies and new media junkies have really embraced Twitter and use it all the time, while others don’t understand it…

Bowl’s Twitter Winners? Coke, Simpsons, Favre, Betty White

An informal review of sentiment suggests that, at least with this subset of Super Bowl spots, consumers were mostly happy with the brand-celebrity match-ups.

…First, a reminder that if you missed any of the spots, or if you just want to watch them again, you can view them all here.

Get Ad Age ad critic Bob Garfield’s take here.

A chart tracking every single spot would be a unreadable morass of intersecting lines, so I focused instead on a subset of Super Bowl spots that used celebrities to sell — tracking both the brand and the celeb to see which had more Twitter buzz. (The Letterman-Leno-Oprah spot, which was off the charts on Twitter, is excluded from this mix because it was a CBS house ad. Interestingly, the hyphenate term “Letterman-Oprah-Leno” hit Twitter’s trending topics lists primarily because of people tweeting links to New York Times coverage of how the spot was made, rather than buzzing about the spot itself.)…
