Twitter Zapping Business Accounts?

A New Zealand company is reporting that its Twitter account has been suspended due to “Updates consisting mainly of links, and not personal updates” — which, if true, means that any other business that posts a lot of links could suffer the same fate.

Consolidate Comments from Twitter, Facebook, Digg and More

Live feed puts all your latest comments in once place

…Do you like this story? Real-time comment and reaction platform Echo has just released a new feature for its Echo Pro customers: A real-time recent comments widget. The widget, which can be integrated into practically any website with a few lines of Javascript code, pulls in comments and reactions to posts from across the web. That means, in addition to seeing a real-time sampling of recent comments on a site, it also pumps in data from TwitterTwitter, DiggDigg and other social networks. What’s nice about this approach to real-time reaction data is that publishers can customize what content appears and from what sources. For instance, a publisher can set up a site-wide recent comments widget which would show all site activity across the web, or it can keep the widget focused on a particular section.Furthermore, the types of comments that are filtered in can also be customized. If you want to bring in comments on the site, but not reactions on Digg or RT’s on Twitter, you can do that as well.Comments are…

Is This How Twitter Will Offer Friends For Sale?

Twitter has rolled out a number of new monetization models in recent weeks and a change to the search results page tonight may be the next one we’ll see. Last Friday Peter Kafka published a report on AllThingsD predicting that Twitter would soon start offering followers to customers, for a price.

…Talk about direct e-commerce possibilities. If search communicates intent - won’t the sales people line up to be introduced as the face to follow regarding popular goods and services? The ROI will be easy to calculate, too.

I think people have assumed that Twitter would monetize search with ads the way Google has - by inserting links to destinations. Twitter is people though - so it makes sense to monetize connection to people and to brands. It would essentially be a way to sell subscriptions to syndicated content, including promotional materials.

It’s pretty amazing to think that this social media era may be one where monetization happens when consumers opt-in to receiving commercial communication over time.

We’ve requested comment from Twitter and will update this post if we hear from the company about our speculation.

See also our scoop of Twitter’s @earlybird promotional account (which, by the way, just said it is about to spread its wings soon) and our maybe-scoop of a maybe/maybe not forthcoming…

HOW TO: Optimize Your Site for Search Engine Marketing

For millions of websites, publishers, and online businesses, search is still the king. While social media may have the media’s attention and Twitter and Facebook are garnering a lot of the hype, search still trumps them when it comes to driving traffic and being discovered by potential new customers.

How to promote your blog in Twitter

Among many types of blog marketing, I would like to focus especially on how most bigger brands are using Twitter to promote their blogs and create a community around them.

…Blogging is a major channel to express opinions and share valuable information to people. With regards to opinions and information, blogging is also a brand ambassador. A lot of values about your company and products/services can be conveyed through blogs. Hence it has become an important aspect of every online marketing strategy to include Blog Marketing as a key action.
Among many types of blog marketing, I would like to focus especially on how most bigger brands are using Twitter to promote their blogs and create a community around them. Further now how you could use buzzom platform to leverage those ideas.
One of the most important concept behind Twitter Marketing is building community. This concept is also popularized by famous marketing expert Seth Goldin. The key idea is to define the purpose of your blog and target to those people to whom your content is valuable. Over here, we are not trying to sell a comb to a bald (that would be completely different marketing subject). We are trying to add a value…
